For almost half a century the big drug companies’ pain medication was called “Pain killer”.  After the evidence was uncovered that many of their medications were literally “killing” their customers’ kidneys and livers they chose a much milder term i.e., “pain reliever”.  Even though they successfully made the “name” change, they neglected to consider that “facts are stubborn things”.           
One of the most dangerous and most abused categories of drugs is over the counter (OTC) medications.
